The MFMQ is 2 years old already! Although we are a young organization, I already see the positive impact of our group on the quality of care in maternal fetal medicine in Quebec. Two years is a short amount of time for an organization such as ours. Yet, we have developed COVID protocols and helped advance different projects within the MSSS, AOGQ, SOGC, FMSQ and others.
While I notice the scope of the work accomplished, I would be remiss if I did not mention the incredible work of our founder Dr Annie Ouellet who just completed her mandate as the first president of the organization. It is because of her unwaivering dedication that the MFMQ was created and that many projects came to life, all of which in the middle of a pandemic! I thank her from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to thank all of the members of the executive committee who were able to motivate the troops and create an environment conducive to collaboration and the advancement of our diverse projects.
Recently, the second edition of our annual meeting was a great success! The CME committee offered us an excellent program with the collaboration of speakers from the 4 academic centers. It was wonderful to be able to proceed in a hybrid manner and I was happy to notice that a large proportion of our members attended the conference in person. Moreover, the 2022 webinars organized jointly by the maternal health committee and GEMOQ sparked discussions and were greatly appreciated within our network.
MFMQ is a dynamic group that allows its members to be involved at all levels of the organization on projects they hold dear. Our mission remains the same, which is to promote and optimize the practice of maternal fetal medicine in Quebec. Thanks to our executive committee, we are on track for our 2020-2025 strategic plan.
In 2023 we want to continue to improve clinical norms in fetal imaging and maternal health. We also want to improve communication between tertiary care centers in order to better support healthcare workers in their everyday practice. Thank you for trusting me in the pursuit of our mission. As president, I will work to promote our speciality and the interests of women with a high risk pregnancy in Quebec.
