It is with great pleasure that I assume the presidency of the MFMQ for the sixth year of our organization’s existence. Having served on our group’s Continuing Professional Development Committee from 2020 to 2025 and as Vice-President of the group last year, the presidency represents a wonderful continuation.

The MFMQ is now a well-established group that is developing numerous projects for fetal and maternal health in Quebec. The work of our Board of Directors is central to our group’s success, and I would like to warmly thank its members from Quebec’s four university hospitals for their dedication. I also thank all the specialists in maternal-fetal medicine who actively participate in meetings, the development of care protocols, and conferences. Your involvement is essential to the development of our community of practice. Several projects are currently being developed by members of the four Quebec university hospitals, thus fostering teamwork and ensuring consistency in obstetric care for patients across Quebec.

This year, we will strive to maintain the excellence of maternal-fetal medicine practice in Quebec. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Suzanne Demers, the outgoing president, who led our group with passion and dedication. I am taking over this role for the year with the desire to work to promote our subspecialty and the interests of pregnant women in Quebec.
